Your adventure begins at an authentic farm, where you’ll learn about the cultivation and production of Costa Rican coffee – from plantation to cup. Then you’ll dive into the delicious world of chocolate with an interactive demonstration where you can make your own artisanal chocolate and taste different varieties.

Finally, explore the world of sugar cane. Learn about the traditional process of extracting cane juice, watch a live demonstration and enjoy refreshing natural sugar cane drinks.

Sloth nature walk

Join us on a relaxing guided nature walk through a lush 30-acre rainforest reserve in La Fortuna de San Carlos. Led by a professional naturalist guide, this 1.5-hour tour offers you the chance to observe wild sloths in their natural habitat – on average, guests spot between four to six sloths during the experience.

Our easy 2-mile trail winds through shaded forest paths and open clearings, making it a gentle hike suitable for all ages. Along the way you may also see colorful birds, frogs, butterflies and other fascinating rainforest creatures that make this area so biodiverse.

Itinerary – Sloth Tour & Chocolate

1. Hotel pick up in La Fortuna area
   Comfortable transportation from your hotel or designated meeting point.
2. Guided sloth walk
   1.5-hour nature walk through a private reserve, looking for sloths and other wildlife.
3. Coffee & chocolate experience
   Visit to an authentic farm with demonstrations of the coffee and chocolate process plus tastings.
4. Sugar cane demonstration
   Learn how sugar cane juice is extracted, enjoy a live milling demo and taste fresh cane juice.
5. Return to your hotel
   Relaxing drive back to La Fortuna with beautiful views of the countryside.
